Anna S. Kozak is an associate attorney with Starr, Butler, Alexopoulos & Stoner, PLLC. She focuses her practice on the defense of employment claims related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. In addition, she practices in the areas of professional liability and commercial litigation.
Anna Kozak attended Wayne State University Law School where she received a joint J.D. and Masters in American Government and Politics in 2020 and 2021, respectively. During her time at Wayne State University, Anna secured a position as a Levin Center Fellow where she spent the summer of 2019 interning for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce – Minority Staff. There, she worked exclusively with the Sub-committee on Oversight and Investigations, participating in research, investigations and congressional hearings regarding the efficacy of various U.S. regulatory frameworks. As a pre-requisite to completing her Master’s Degree, Anna submitted an extensive research essay contemplating the impact of religious exemptions to generally applicable laws under the United States Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Finally, prior to joining the firm, Anna worked as an associate for a large metro-Detroit firm, specializing in insurance defense matters.
Prior to entering Law School, Anna completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Michigan University where she double majored in political science and psychology. There, she served as treasurer of the academic political science organization, Pi Sigma Alpha.
